Downtime is a known issue with hosting, but what happens when your website is down for an extended period of time? Do you have a backup server to ensure your sites aren't down for days at a time? Read up on how you can implement a backup server to be ready for the worse.

This site has been a running experiment for several years using a few bad designs in my earlier days. After a few years of sitting on the last stock template and learning more about web design I felt it was time to take another stab at designing my own template for this site. It took a few long nights and a ton of pretzels, but I think the end result is well worth the effort.
In the coming weeks (likely months) I hope to finish some of my older projects for this site including some tutorials and finally giving the about page a little more content.
Do you think splash pages are still a good idea? What rock have you been hiding under? Why do I ask well clearly some people haven't gotten the idea and well they need to get with the program.
If you know one of these poor misguided people please direct them here: http://www.seomoz.org/blog/how-to-convince-a-client-they-dont-need-a-splash-page or to the nearest mental institution as they need help.
In all seriousness splash pages aren't good for your reputation, the reputation of other designers/developers, or the visitors browsing the site. Considering quite a few sites are business related and want visitors you would be doing your clients and their clients a disservice by using a splash page.
I did say they were a bad idea right?
